Mr./Mrs.
Nurse Recruiter/Manager
                      Hospital
Hospital/Facility address

To Whom it may concern,

I am writing to express interest in the Pediatric/Neonatal RN residency program at your hospital and ask that you please consider me for this position. I have recently graduated from the University of South Florida in May 2014 with my Bachelors of Science in Nursing. I was formerly a student in the upper division nursing program. I believe my academic background as well as my past work experiences will contribute significantly to your hospital.

During my education at USF I have acquired skills in patient assessment and gained a foundation in providing care that focuses on all aspects of a patient’s health. I have increased my clinical awareness and learned effective communication techniques in order to work well with other medical professionals and with patients to promote overall wellbeing. These skills as well as my patience, compassion, and motivation are what I offer as a graduate nurse.

In addition, my experience as a Patient Care Tech has given me the confidence to care for patients in a variety of settings. I have worked mainly in the Trauma ICU, and have also floated to other units such as the NICU (neuro-intensive care unit), orthopedic unit, and trauma step-down unit at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg. I have observed nurses utilize critical thinking and leadership skills in order to advocate for their patients, which has helped me better understand my role as a nurse. I would be thrilled and honored to be a part of your team and contribute my skills to your hospital, staff and patients.

I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you further to discuss my background and interest in the position. You can reach me at (561) 427-5200 or at mwalrich@live.com. Thank you for your consideration in this exciting opportunity.

Sincerely,

Morghan Walrich
